Admixture K=9, HRP0041-HRP0050

Here are their ethnic backgrounds and the results spreadsheet. Also relevant are the reference I admixture results.

The interesting samples here are the two Iraqi Arabs (HRP0042 & HRP0043) who have some African admixture.

If you can't see the interactive bar chart above, here's a static image.

PS. This was run using Admixture version 1.04.

  1. Hi..I'm HRP0044.
I'd like to thank Zack for giving me the opportunity to take this test; my results are very interesting.
I'm confused with them however. I don't understand why i'm 28% kalash in k=9 but only about 6% in k=12; the kalash are a distinct group so I can't see references being taken from elsewhere. Also, whats surprising for me is that i'm 8% sw asian in k=9 but 1% in k=12. According to the dodecad project i'm 0% sw asian and 32% west asian; I think their west asian references come from circassians as they seem to have the highest proportion of west asian in them.
I'm just sooo confused...can somebody please help??? It would be much appreciated.

    • The ancestral components for K=9 are not the same as for K=12. For example, the K=9 Kalash component includes both the K=12 Kalash and Pak/Cauc components.

Also the SW Asian component is so named because it's maximum in that region but it is not the same for various values of K. And is definitely different from Dodecad's Southwest Asian component.
